What kind of material can be powder coated?

  • Almost any metal can be powder coated- steel, stainless steel, aluminum, cast iron, copper, brass, bronze, magnesium and titanium. Out-gassing can occur in aluminum, cast iron and magnesium metals which cause bubbles to form under the finish. However, one of our vendors do offer some Out-Gassing Forgiving finishes (seen here in their specialties brochure).

Can you powder coat over an existing finish?

  • Most items require a fresh start, so we will need to media blast them first before powder coating.  However, polished metals can be powdered with a clear powder coating over the part to preserve the finish.

What powder is the best against weather?

  • The Series 38 color series is the ultimate in weather resistance, preventing UV rays from fading your powder coating over extended periods of time. It also features greater chalking resistance, smooth flow, and great mechanical properties. Click here to view the brochure.

Can you match the powder to a specific color?

  • Yes, we can match most paint colors.

Can you fill dents or fix imperfections?

  • Yes, usually we can fix gouges, scratches and dents before powder coating.

Do I need to do anything to my item before powder coating?

How long will it take to complete my job?

  • Usually within 3-5 business days.
